When you play with two Joy-Con controllers, these will become your sword and shield. Switch the right joy-con controller to make Link swing his sword in the game and use the left joy-con controller to raise his shield to block enemy attacks. Physical moves like this can also be used to make use of different tools and items, such as using a bow and arrow or throwing bombs.
