Chat masala is mainly used to add flavor to chaat. It typically consists of amchoor (dried mango powder), cumin, coriander, dried ginger, salt (often black salt), black pepper, asafoetida, and chili powder. Chaat masala is generously used for sprinkling in all chaat dishes like aloo chaat, dahi puri, bhel, etc.
Chaat masala powder will add a tinge of tanginess to all the chaat dishes. A pinch of chaat masala powder with some lemon drops adds a zesty taste to fruit dishes and vegetable salads. Make the patty of spicy paneer burger a little chatpata by adding chaat masala to the mixture which will make it even tastier! Widely used as seasoning in indian cuisine, it can be sprinkled on top of a finished delicacy.
