Nitrile rubber has excellent oil resistance, its oil resistance is second only to polysulfide rubber and fluorine rubber, and has wear resistance and air tightness. The disadvantage of NBR is that it is not resistant to ozone and aromatic, halogenated hydrocarbon, ketone and ester solvents, and is not suitable for insulation. Better heat resistance than styrene butadiene rubber, neoprene rubber, can work at 120℃ for a long time. Air tightness is second only to butyl rubber. The performance of NBR is affected by acrylonitrile content. With the increase of acrylonitrile content, the tensile strength, heat resistance, oil resistance, air tightness and hardness increase, but the elasticity and cold resistance decrease. NBR has poor ozone resistance and electrical insulation. Good water resistance. Nitrile butadiene rubber is mainly used in the manufacture of oil resistant rubber products.
