Coriander is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae. It is also known as Chinese parsley, dhania or cilantro.
All parts of the plant are edible but the fresh leaves and the dried seeds are the parts most traditionally used in cooking.
It is a hard, round little seed that is a light brown color.
It seeds are ground and used in breads, foods and cuisine.
Toasting the seeds can bring out the flavor or wrap them with other seasonings.
It is also a component of pickling spices.
