The BMW Cooling Fan Assembly is a part of your car's cooling system that regulates the engine's temperature. Electric fans are mounted directly on the radiator and connected to a thermostat that turns them on when a preset temperature is reached.
The fan is also kicked on when the AC is turned on, to ensure that the engine does not overheat due to the extra load of the compressor. Engine-driven fans turn on and off depending on the RPM of the engine. These engines use a viscous thermostatic clutch to disengage the fan at a certain RPM. Some cars also employ a flex fan that utilizes thin stainless or aluminum blades that flatten out when the car gains speed, thus giving the engine more power to operate.
If your BMW Cooling Fan does not turn on when it needs to, it should be replaced at the earliest to prevent your car's engine from overheating. Each of our car parts has been tested to meet or exceed industry standards.
