Inderjoo kadwa is extracted from the stem bark of holarrhena pubescens which is a medicinal plant. Inderjoo kadwa is known to have antibacterial properties. Thus it is used in the treatment of amoebic dysentery. Although slow in action, inderjoo kadwa is less toxic and can be administered orally. The bark has astringent, removes internal parasites or worms, stomachic, cures fever and tonic properties.
A hot decoction of the stem bark is used as a gargle to treat toothache. The bark and leaves are externally applied to cure scabies, boils, ulcers and haemorrhoids. Inderjoo kadwa helps to reduce raise level of sugar in the blood stream. Inderjoo kadwa also helps to regulate the secretion of insulin in the body. Inderjoo kadwa is used to treat various skin conditions like eczema, scabies, fungal infections, and leprosy.
