Toyota Fj Cruiser 4.0 1st Generation Transmission Mount A transmission’s primary purpose is to keep the engine and wheels of your vehicle turning in sync. The transmission mount plays a significant role in keeping vibrations to a minimum. It securely holds the rear of the transmission, or tail shaft, to a cross-member. Typically, a transmission mount has a rubber or urethane bushing bolted or welded to a bracket. The entire assembly securely fastens the transmission to the vehicle cross member.
