Oil sump screws are used for the sole unit of most vehicles in the oil pan and engine. This screw is a direct replacement for the old one.
The sump plug is located on the underside of the sump pan, which is directly below the engine block.
This pan collects excess oil once it has been pumped around the engine, and once all the oil has moved through, it is redistributed back into the system. When you need to flush, clean, or maintain the engine, the sump plug can be unscrewed in order to let the oil drain out.
