The Hoya UX filter for beginner's UX stands for user experience. To make these filters as user-friendly as possible, the coating of the popular HOYA HMC filters has been significantly improved. For the first time, the new UX filters use a coating called "HMC WR" (High Multi Coated Water Repellent).

The already very high-quality coating of the Hoya HMC filter has been extended for the new UX series by two additional WR coating layers on both sides of the glass. Water can drain immediately when in contact with the glass without leaving any traces. In addition to this practical effect, the new coating also prevents streaks and fingerprints.

This reduces the cleaning frequency and therefore the risk of micro-scratches. Even stubborn dirt can be wiped off without much effort or is rinsed away from the incoming rainwater. This new 10x coating, which has been applied on both sides of the filter glass, also ensures reliable reflex suppression.

The UX UV filter with the new water-repellent coating is an upgrade of the Hoya HMC UV (C) filter and is part of the new UX entry-level series together with the CIR-PL Slim Filter. Both types of filters belong to a new product concept that is tailored to amateurs and makes the HOYA-typical high-quality standards accessible to even beginners.

The UX UV filter, which can be used on both film and digital cameras, absorbs ultraviolet rays, which often make outdoor shots unintentionally diffuse and invisible. The UV glass absorbs the responsible spectrum of UV rays so that the images appear clearer and sharper and mist veils are weakened. This versatile filter is suitable for both color and black-and-white photography and also serves as an always-on lens protector.
