The book introduces the areas of continuum theory that are relevant for engineers: the deformation of the elastic and plasticizing solid, the flow of friction -free and frictional fluids and the electrodynamics. The author builds the theory in the sense of rational mechanics, i.e. that is, it creates a field equation system and - on the side - gives an introduction to the tensor analysis. Both the index lime and the absolute spelling are used and compared.
