PLA (Polylactic Acid) is one of the two most commonly used desktop 3D printing filaments (with the other being ABS filament). It is the €œdefault€ recommended material for many desktop 3D printers, and with good reason PLA is useful in a broad range of printing applications, has the virtue of being both odorless and low-warp, and does not require a heated bed.
Beside all good properties of PLA filaments, like superb printing quality and easiest print setup, there are some downsides as well. PLA has almost the least temperature resistance and low toughness compare to other filaments. It starts deforming above 60 oC and it is also brittle with low toughness. FilaPLA is PLA-based copolymer. FilaPLA filaments have been developed by our engineers at Filatech to overcome the weaknesses of the normal PLA by combining the toughness of ABS and temperature resistance of PC with the advantages of normal PLA.
It is very easy to print, heated bed is not necessary and depending to the design of the printing parts, it might be needed up to 50 oC just like normal PLA. Withstands up to 100 oC of working temperature (20 oC higher than ABS) and its much tougher than normal PLA. Our FilaPLA filaments for 3D Printing are available in a wide range of colors in both 1.75mm and 2.85mm Diameter.
