This Slotted Aural speculum intended to allow visualisation of the tympanum whilst protecting the external ear canal from diagnostic and/or surgical instruments. This speculum has a slot, a complete one, extending throughout the length of the speculum.

By rotating the ear speculum the slot also moves facilitating infiltration of local anesthetic medicines. The speculum should be inserted up to the cartilaginous portion of the external auditory canal. Moreover, this is a funnel shaped piece of plastic on a light source that is inserted into the auditory canal of the ear, allowing the examiner to look at the ear canal and ear drum.
